A range of new computing devices including the latest Asus UX31A Zenbook Prime Ultrabook made their appearances at the recently unfolded Pepcom Digital Experience. The Transformer Pad Infinity and PA248Q Professional Series Monitor accompanied the notebook to the conference. It makes use of the Ivy Bridge processors.
The latest addition to the UX series, this laptop is said to have been designed on the basis of feedback acquired from customers. Measuring not more than 17mm at its thickest point, this ‘astonishingly thin’ notebook comes encased in a form factor constructed using light aluminum alloy. It also boasts of a spun finish on its polished surfaces.
The computing gadget is inspired by luxury timepieces and flaunts sharp edges. Compared to the previously released devices belonging to this series of Ultrabooks from the company, the UX31A sports a rather oversized backlit keyboard and a touchpad for additional comfort and flexibility in typing. Its reinforced hinges, claim to offer better operation, while ensuring extended longevity.
In spite of its extremely thin chassis, the portable computer packs in a punch with some powerful internal hardware and features. Based on the Intel technology, it acquires multitasking properties from the third generation Intel Core i7 mobile processor. The Ultrabook is outfitted with an IPS panel that renders visuals in 1920 x 1080p resolutions and has been integrated with a SATA 6Gb/s SSD. Some other attributes are inclusive of Bang & Olufsen ICEpower audio technology, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI connector. The incorporated Instant On function wakes the tablet up in close to 2 seconds.
The Asus UX31A Zenbook Prime Ultrabook price and release date are yet to be revealed.
