Asus Transformer Pad TF300 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update now available

Android 4.2 Jelly Bean

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 is the first non-Nexus device to officially get a full serving of the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform. And for users in the US, the update is now available via OTA delivery bearing the latest offerings from Google’s mobile platform.

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 received a bump from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean back in August. The Android 4.2 release will bring in an enhanced user experience, better performance and improved stability. One noteworthy addition is the multiple user account logins attribute. Through this, owners will be able to set profiles for each person that accesses the tablet. Doing so, provides them with their own space which includes a dedicated homescreen layout with support for backgrounds and widgets.

Additionally, high scores as well as levels of each account will be independently stored and switching between accounts is said to be a breeze. The Photo Sphere camera application should also be in tow along with a host of goodies. The tablet comes with a quad core processor from Nvidia and it packs in an HD 10.1-inch WXGA LED-backlit screen that proffers a 10-finger multi-touch input and 350nits brightness.

16GB of eMMC storage and 1GB of RAM cater to storage needs, while dual cameras, a 1,2MP front-facing webcam as well as an 8MP AF rear snapper, allow users to capture images and record videos. The device comes with a mobile dock that not only bundles a full QWERTY chiclet keyboard, but also various ports like USB and SD card as well as an extended battery. The tablet alone can deliver 10 hours of activity, while the extension can stretch the total usage time to a maximum of 15 hours. The slate comes in color options of royal blue, iceberg white and torch red.

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300 Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update will roll out in other locations apart from the US throughout this month. Additionally, the Transformer Pad Infinity, MeMO Pad Smart 10-inch, and MeMO Pad will receive the latest firmware sometime during Q2.
