Multi-mode laptops are in high demand and Asus is at the frontline with its new Transformer Book Flip laptop. The new notebook combines high-end features including a discrete graphics solution within slim and portable designs.
The Asus Transformer Book Flip lineup comprises of three models – 13.3-inch, 14-inch and 15.6-inch. They offer HD and FHD visuals with LED-backlit panels and 16:9 aspect ratio. The processing power comes from the latest Intel processors and there are options of Core i3, i5 and i7 CPUs. These chips are clubbed together with Intel HD 4400 graphics and a discrete Nvidia GeForce 820M or 840M GPU with 2GB of VRAM for gaming.
For storage, there are options of up to 1.5TB and some models also offer SSD memory. What’s more, Windows 8.1 can be found preloaded on these notebooks. Flipping through various modes is intuitive and there are four gears in the hinge which help keep the display in any desired position. Additionally, the moment the screen is flipped, the keyboard and touchpad are locked to avoid accidental presses.
Design-wise, the laptops have an aluminum chassis and a hairline-textured finish. The bottom half flaunts a one-piece chiclet keyboard and a multi-touch touchpad with support for Smart Gestures. Asus has also included various technologies such as SonicMaster for a rich audio experience, Instant On which resumes the notebook from sleep in a few seconds and Splendid that automatically calibrates the display color for clear and vibrant visuals.
The Asus Transformer Book Flip will reach stores by the end of this month. There’s no word on the price and exact market availability as yet.
