Asus Fonepad 8 FE380CG with quad core Intel BayTrail official in India

Asus has finally brought its latest Bay Trail powered Fonepad 8 FE380CG tablet to India and has already put it up for grabs online. The device continues to offer the best of both worlds through a large 8-inch touch display and voice calling support over cellular.

The Asus Fonepad 8 FE380CG made its debut back at the Computex 2014 expo and was released in select markets in October. The slate continues to offer the same attractive design found on the 7-inch model where the screen is surrounded by slim bezels and the rear has a nice textured finish. This device also comes with dual front-facing speakers.

The 8-inch panel offers 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and there’s a 1.33GHz quad core Intel Atom processor getting things up and running. The Fonepad 8 also has 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and a microSD card slot which supports up to 64GB. There are dual SIM card slots as well, with HSPA+ connectivity.

The tablet runs on Android 4.4 KitKat which is disappointing considering that there’s a 64-bit SOC onboard. However, there’s a high possibility that Lollipop isn’t too far away from being released for the Asus device. Additionally, the very attractive and user-friendly Zen UI is also onboard.
