Asus has also decided to bring its ultra affordable EeeBook X205TA Windows laptop to India and unlike HP, it hasn’t overpriced the device by much. The new release comes for just Rs 14999, making it one of the cheapest notebooks on the market and it offers some pretty good hardware too.
The Asus EeeBook X205TA is basically Microsoft retaliation to Google’s low-cost Chromebooks. The device features a traditional laptop design and also comes with a host of features. The company is offering it in four colors, namely gold, white, red and black.
It weighs under 1kg making it highly portable and is also pretty slim at 17.5mm. This is made possible owing to the Intel Atom processor, the quad core Z3735 Bay Trail-T chip, being onboard which enables a fanless design. And while you get a full Windows 8.1 experience through an 11.6-inch HD display, the battery life is very promising at up to 12 hours.
The EeeBook X205TA does have quite a bit of competition in India from local and popular brands. Asus’ release has the upper hand over the HP Stream 11 as the former is selling for much lesser. Both devices went official in the US for $199 (around Rs 12253) and they come with very similar hardware components. We’re really not sure why the latter is selling for Rs 19990.
Asus EeeBook X205TA specs:
– 1.33GHz quad core Intel Atom Z3735 processor
– Windows 8.1 with Bing
– 11.6-inch 1366 x 768 pixel LCD
– 32GB eMMC flash storage
– VGA webcam
– HDMI output, USB 2.0, microSDXC card support
– 38Wh polymer battery
The Asus EeeBook X205TA will go on sale exclusively through Flipkart starting today and it’ll also be available in the company’s own stores from next month.
