It’s been just more than a month after Apple unveiled its iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C smartphones, and it’s now turn for its iPad lineup to get some love, it seems. Cupertino has issued invites to the press – one of them being with Engadget – for an event that’s slated to take place on October 22.
Rumors about the next iPads have already told us what we can expect from the new tablets, and word is that it’s these devices that we’ll see being revealed at the big event. Apart from these, the company’s MacBook Pro line could also get a refresh. Let’s have a look at some of the details all those rumors have brought forth.
We’ve seen leaked images that have gone on to suggest that the next-gen tablet will take design cues from its mini version which was launched last year. The screen size is expected to stay locked at 9.7 inches, however, the bezel might see a slight narrowing down.
On the iPhone 5S, we saw Apple’s new A7 processor impress us a great deal. It’s rumored that the same setup will be included with the iPad 5 as well. Another aspect that it will apparently borrow from the iPhone 5S is the nifty fingerprint scanner.
iPad mini 2
The iPad mini 2, with its smaller screen will probably go for an older processor, but there have been numerous talks about the A7 setup being present in this slate as well. Thus, we’ll have to wait and watch what Apple has actually done.
Past leaks have suggested that a Retina display will be making its way onto the device this time around. An 8MP rear camera is also expected to be fitted onto the tablet.
Lastly, it can be observed that the MacBook Pro line has gone without a refresh for quite a long time now. We can thus expect Apple to unveil new versions of these products, perhaps equipped with the less power-consuming Haswell processors from Intel.
Whatever Apple decides to showcase at its big October 22 event, we’ll have it covered right here with all the details pertaining to it.
