The wait for Apple’s iPhone-independent Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular is finally over in India, as the tech major has officially launched the variant in the country. The company’s tapped Airtel and Reliance Jio to sell the smartwatch online and its brick-and-mortar shops offline.
The Apple Watch Series 3 Cellular works with a virtual eSIM to ensure you get LTE connectivity. This in turn will allow you to leave your iPhone at home, so you can go for a run and still be able to stream songs and get messages or calls. You’ll even be able to ask Siri to set reminders or send a calendar invitation.
As for how much money all this will cost you, Apple has fixed the rate at Rs 39080 for the 38mm Aluminum + Sports Band version and Rs 39130 for the 38mm Aluminum + Nike Sport Band option. The 42mm Aluminum + Sports Band iteration is priced at Rs 41120, while the 42mm Aluminum + Nike Sport Band goes for Rs 41180.
If you’re looking to go for broke, there’s a 38mm Apple Watch Series 3 Edition (Cellular) which costs Rs 118030 and another 42mm one which sells for an insane Rs 122090. If you’re not in the mood to spend lakhs on a smartwatch and don’t really require LTE connectivity, the Apple Watch Series 3 GPS-only starts at Rs 32380.
The biggest launch offer being promised across the board is a Rs 5000 cashback deal for ICICI Bank credit card customers on EMI transactions. The scheme is live till 10 June 2018 and you’ll get the amount within 90 days of the transaction. Keep in mind that Airtel requires you to be on a MyPlan Postpaid or Infinity Postpaid plan to utilize the wearable.
