The iPhone X lineup might just welcome an all-new gold color variant to its midst in the near future. This has been rumored before, but the speculation just got another shot in the arm thanks to a new Macotakara report.
According to the Japanese blog, Apple is hoping to restore sales of the iPhone X by releasing a new gold option. This comes a week after frequent leakster Benjamin Geskin tweeted that production on a Blush Gold iPhone X was underway.
He also shared what appears to be a mockup of what a Blush Gold iPhone X would look like. It looks unsurprisingly like the Rose Gold iPhone which Apple has been selling for many years.
Macotakara’s report doesn’t mention which shade of gold Apple is said to be considering. It may well be the traditional yellowish kind, or perhaps a new combination altogether.
Blush Gold first popped up last year in the flood of leaks leading up to the iPhone X. It’s possible Apple that couldn’t get it ready in time for the September announcement and is now looking to create a splash with it, along with a low-cost 9.7-inch iPad with support for the Apple Pencil.
Unveiling a new iPhone color months after launch is not a new thing for Apple to do. It had previously come out with a Red iPhone 7 in March 2017. The company does have an event scheduled for March 27, so we’ll let you know if we spot gold.
