Apple Outs iOS 14.4.2 For New iPhones and Critical iOS 12.5.2 Update For iPhone 6

iphone stand Apple has unexpectedly announced iOS 14.4.2, iPadOS 14.4.2 and watchOS 7.3.3 software updates for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch users. In addition to this, the company has also rolled out an important iOS 12.5.2 fix for those with iPhone 6 or older versions of the smartphones.

To update your software, go to Settings > General and pick Software Update. Make sure you have a working data connection and enough battery power before doing this. Now check if there’s an update available and elect to Install Now.

In some cases, you may need to be connected to a strong Wi-Fi hotspot and also have your device plugged in to charge before Apple lets you upgrade.

Cupertino has asked users to update to the new software as fast as possible. The launches are touted to be related to a Webkit fix. The latter is the web browser engine used by Safari, Mail, App Store, and a bunch of other apps on macOS, iOS, and Linux.

It’s been just around three weeks since the release of iOS 14.4.1 and iPadOS 14.4.1. Each of the latest versions of the OS serves as an important security fix for a bug in Webkit which could potentially let cyber-criminals redirect users to unwanted websites and so on and so forth.

iOS 14.4.2 and iPadOS 14.4.2 is available as a free update for Phone 6s and newer models, all iPad Pro devices, iPad Air 2 and later, iPad 5th generation and newer, iPad mini 4 and later, and the 7th gen iPod touch.

Those with Apple Watch Series 3 or newer variants can update to watchOS 7.3.3. iOS 12.5.2 has been released for iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, and 6th gen iPod touch users.
