Apple MacBook Air Revamped

The Apple MacBook Air and current generation MacBook Pro have been endowed with the latest Intel Core processors as well as new graphics. The former now incorporates a new reduced price tag, making it an ideal everyday notebook, according to the company. The 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pro laptops boast of housing Nvidia GeForce GT 650M discrete graphics.

The 11- and 13-inch MacBook Air laptops come complete with the newest Core i5 and Core i7 dual-core processors which allow users to easily manage photos, make movies and seamlessly surf through the internet. This particular series now features built-in Intel HD Graphics 4000 and claims to be up to 60% faster than its earlier counterpart. Other freshly infused attributes include 4GB memory which is configurable up to 8GB and a FaceTime HD camera that offers 720p HD resolutions.

“Today we’ve updated the entire MacBook line with faster processors, graphics, memory, flash storage and USB 3 connectivity,” commented Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. “We’ve made the world’s best portable family even better and we think users are going to love the performance advances in both the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro.”

Current Generation MacBook Pro

Coming to the MacBook Pro notebooks, Apple has blessed the 13-inch device with Intel Core i5 or Core i7 dual-core processors up to 2.9GHz complete with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.6GHz. On the other hand, the latest 15-inch gadget runs on Intel Core i7 quad-core processors up to 2.7GHz and comes with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.7GHz.

Both the Pro and Air notebooks consist of two USB3.0 ports and a Thunderbolt slot for attaching external displays and other peripherals. The 13-inch MacBook Air as well as the 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pro offer potential owners up to 7 hours of battery life while the 11-inch Air can work continuously for up to 5 hours at a stretch. All the aforementioned Apple devices will include the OS X Lion software.

The revamped 11- and 13-inch MacBook Air prices start at $999 and $1,199, respectively while consumers in India can purchase the same for Rs. 67,900 and Rs. 81,900, respectively. The updated 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pro sport tags that start at $1,199 and $1,799, correspondingly. In India, these two devices bear starting prices of Rs. 81,900 and Rs. 122,900, correspondingly.
