We expected much more from the new Apple iPad mini 3 tablet #Disappointment

Along with the new iPad Air 2 model, Apple also took the wraps off its third generation iPad mini at the launch event. But the Cupertino giant didn’t really spend much time talking about the new slate on stage and there isn’t much written about it on the official presser either. And that’s mainly because of one simple reason – There wasn’t anything much to discuss.

The iPad mini 3 is basically everything it was rumored to be – A minor upgrade to the previous model. In fact, the changes are so minimal that a price difference of $100 between the second and third generations seems ridiculous.

The biggest modification to the hardware is the inclusion of the Touch ID fingerprint reader. And while the previous gen tablet arrived in 16GB and 32GB configurations, Apple has thrown in two new options with 64GB and 128GB of onboard memory, but has eliminated the second choice.

A gold colored option has finally joined the lineup seeing as it’s one of the most attractive shades on the iPhones. And that’s about all that’s new on the latest iPad mini. From the weight to the dimensions to the processor to the display, Apple hasn’t even laid a finger on anything else.
