Things don’t seem to stand as they were rumored to be a few days ago as a newly leaked render of the alleged Oppo N3 has shown the device sporting a completely different design to the one that was unofficially outed prior to this. The new picture in question shows half of the device’s back which does not in any way match with its earlier image.
The previous images of the Oppo N3 showed the phone housing a unique cylindrical growth at its top end. This tube apparently occupied the swivel camera mechanism which is a staple of the ‘N’ series smartphones from the company, namely the N1 and the N1 mini.
However, the newly leaked image that has come via Soyaincau (via Phone Arena) shows that a pretty flat design has found its way onto the handset. Also, it seems a lot more realistic than the cylindrical design which wasn’t making much sense.
The advantage of having a swivel camera is that there isn’t any need for two different cameras to be placed on a device’s back and front surfaces. The same snapper can be turned to act as a rear shooter or a selfie unit. This blueprint was pioneered by the Oppo N1, and was later also granted to its mini version.
We are hence sure that the Oppo N3 too will be launched with the same swivel camera mechanism onboard. It will apparently be announced on October 15 at an event in Singapore.
