Fans who’ve been waiting to download Angry Birds Space will tell anyone who’s listening about why Rovio’s latest is going to be huge. It’s the biggest game to come out of the Finland manufacturer’s stable since Angry Birds and it’s now available for iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android devices, apart from PC and Mac.
The heckled critters are back with a bang starting with the Blue Birds, Red Bird, Bomb, Lazer Bird, Terence and Ice Bird. And they’re donning superhero avatars. The pre-launch publicity for the title was enough to have any Angry Birds buff writhing with impatience, especially since the entire game is set up in space. Rovio’s talking about an environment with zero gravity and the opportunity to use nearby planets’ gravity to make trick shots.
“This is Rovio at its finest, and we are more than excited to bring Angry Birds Space to all our fans worldwide,” explained Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio. “This launch marks a huge step for us as a company, and our whole team and partners have really pulled together to bring out a fantastic array of exciting products and experiences. We hope that our fans will find all things Angry Birds Space as delightful as the Rovio family does.”
Angry Birds Space includes no less than 60 levels and free updates are on the cards too. What’s more, it is stuffed with hidden goodies, space content and secret levels. For those who don’t mind shelling out the money to feed their bird-pelting enthusiasm, additional content is expected to be up for grabs through in-app purchases, beginning with the iOS edition.
