Android 13 for Pixel Phones Is Here, Other Devices To Get It Later This Year

Android 13 Tiramisu Media Privacy Settings The stable version of Android 13 “Tiramisu” is out for Pixel phones already. It will come to Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, OnePlus, Oppo, Sony, HMD (Nokia) and other brands later in 2022. That’s not bad considering the first developer preview was launched last February and it’s been less than a year since Android 12 rolled out.

While the leap from Android 12 to 13 is not humongous when compared to the update from Android 11 to 12, there are many new features to look forward to. In terms of the customization options, you can select different languages for each app (if the option is available) and there’s expanded app color theming.

Google has stuck to the Material You design language it introduced last year, while making a few visual tweaks. Apps from third-parties can be personalized to match your Android phone’s wallpaper and color themes. This lends a more unified look to the interface in general. On the audio front there’s Bluetooth LE support as well as Spatial Audio — on compatible earphones — which tracks your head movements and changes the sound accordingly in order to provide a properly immersive listening experience.

Users will no longer be forced to grant apps permission to access their entire media library for uploading or sharing content. Other changes worth mentioning include HDR video support for non-Google camera apps, Braille displays for Talkback, app notifications turned off by default and tighter controls for Bedtime mode.
