Fondly known as a Netflix for eBook lovers, Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited program has set foot in India, with its per-month subscription starting at just Rs 199. From today until September 30 though, that price will go even lower to Rs 99 as part of a promotional offer from the American company.
Form those unaware, Kindle Unlimited is a subscription-based service which grants you access to more than one million eBooks from Amazon’s library; so that you can read as many of them as you can during your stipulated time. There is hence no need to pay for them separately, as they’ll all be free to read as long as you are subscribed.
More importantly, this won’t just be limited to those with Kindle eReaders on them. Kindle Unlimited can be taken advantage of even on iOS and Android devices, aside from PC and Mac. While a month’s subscription sets you back by Rs 199, Rs 999 lets you commit for six months. A one-year membership also exists, and asks Rs 1799 worth of your cash.
These are significantly cheap prices compared to the US version of Kindle Unlimited. There, a one-month subscription costs $9.99 which is the equivalent of approximately Rs 660.
Like we said, this service will offer access to over one million books, among which will be a large number of Kindle exclusives as well. Short stories from authors like Stephen King and Susan Hill will be available as well for quick reading for when very few days of your subscription are remaining.
If you’re interested in signing up for Kindle Unlimited and taking advantage of its launch offer, you can head over to Amazon right now.
