Airtel has launched its very own Online Store in India, looking to sell premium handsets with bundled plans, affordable down payments, and instant credit verification and financing. The first couple of devices on the docket are the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus in its 32GB and 128GB avatars.
The 32GB iPhone 7 is being sold at Rs 7777 on Airtel’s Online Store. This looks like a steal until you read the condition with which it’s being sold so low. You’ll have to commit to a Rs 2499 monthly postpaid plan for 24 months. This totals to Rs 59976 in 2 years. If you factor in the original Rs 7777, you’ll be paying Rs 67753 in all.
This is a big ask considering the 32GB iPhone 7 is priced at Rs 49000 officially and Rs 38999 via Amazon India and Flipkart at the moment. Airtel’s deal makes sense if you’re a heavy user and spend that much on your monthly bill anyway.
