Acer India has announced to release its Internet-centric Aspire One netbook in the Indian market.
The Aspire One is a stylish, sleek and ultra-portable device in colors of sapphire blue, pink, brown, black and white. The sleek and compact device sports a LCD screen of 8.9 inches and weighs less than a kilo.

Described as smaller than an average office diary, Acer’s Aspire One comes equipped with with IntelR AtomT processor, LinpusT LinuxR Lite or Windows XPR Home, and 1GB of RAM memory.
“The IntelR AtomT has been received very positively from all over the world as paving the way towards affordable Internet-centric devices,” said Anupam Srivastava, Director – Intel Capital, Intel South Asia. “It is based on an entirely new microarchitecture specifically for small devices and low power. This is our smallest processor built with the world’s smallest transistors and a fundamental shift in design, small yet powerful enough to enable a big Internet experience on devices such as Acer’s Aspire One. Consumers can use basic computing applications, listen to music, e-mail and surf the Internet. They can also play basic online games, social networking and make voice over IP phone calls.”
It also boasts of a battery life upto 3 hours and plus. The Aspire One also features the Mail software suite that can manage user’s 6 mail accounts plus the Messenger and Skype for instant messaging. It also offers built-in video camera for instant video-chats and conferences.
The Aspire One netbook will be available across the 22 Infiniti Retail Ltd. Outlets. The price details are – Acer Aspire One Linux version priced at Rs. 19,999 (plus taxes) & Acer Aspire One Windows XP Home Edition for Rs. 21,999 (plus taxes).
