The Acer Iconia Tab A510 which marks the company’s first tablet with the Nvidia quad core Tegra 3 chip, is now up for pre-sale in the U.S. and Canada. The embedded processor comes with the 4-Plus-1 architecture that Nvidia was seen waxing eloquent about around the time LG introduced its Optimus 4X HD phone.
The main specifications of the Acer Iconia Tab A510 involve a 10.1-inch, 1,280 x 800p resolution, 10-point touch capacitive display and the Ice Cream Sandwich OS right out of the box. Fans can choose to pick it up in shades of black or silver and the chassis also has the Olympics logo imprinted on the rear to shout out the company’s sponsorship of the 2012 Olympic Games. Running on 1GB RAM, the tablet offers 32GB of onboard storage and features a microSD card reader which can accept a card of up to 32GB.

The Android 4.0 tablet is equipped with connectivity options spanning Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR, microUSB 2.0 and micro HDMI. On the productivity angle, Acer has packed it in with a suite of apps inclusive of Polaris Office 3.5. For those who’d fancy shooting stills or videos on a slab like this, there’s a 5MP camera on the back panel as well as a 1MP FF one on the front. The 9800mAh battery powering it can apparently go on for up to 12 hours of video playback and there’s hardware-accelerated support for Adobe Flash 11 to supplement the web browsing experience.
