Acer has unveiled the budget-friendly Iconia A1-810 in the US, a tablet which got leaked a couple of times before and the company has officially disclosed its price as well. The slate is designed with one-hand use in mind, owing to which, it features a slim design that measures 0.44 inches thin and lightweight form factor that starts at 0.90 pounds.

The Acer Iconia A1-810 basically falls in the 8-inch category giving the iPad mini and the Galaxy Note 8 a reason to worry. The LED-backlit IPS display employed on the front spans 7.9 inches diagonally with a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels, a 5-point touch input, a 4:3 aspect ratio and a 170-degree viewing angle. Carrying the load on the inside is a quad core MediaTek processor that’s clocked at 1.2GHz and is based on the Cortex A7 architecture. The SOC also packs in 1GB of RAM.

Data storage is taken care of by internal options of 8GB or 16GB, while a microSD card slot allows expansion of up to 32GB. A 5MP camera is placed on the rear with 1080p capture at 30fps and the front-facing webcam paired with the microphone can be utilized for video calling. A 3250mAh battery gets things moving with approximately 7 hours of video playback or 5 hours of YouTube streaming based on a previous report.

The A1-810 is expected to run the latest Android release out of the box which is version 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and the company has incorporated it with the Touch WakeApp gesture that allows users to run their favorite application when the slate wakes up from sleep. Buyers will also get the complete Google apps package with services like Now, Search, Gmail, YouTube and more available pre-loaded. The Play store is also accessible for downloading games, apps, mobiles and books.

The Acer Iconia A1-810 will be available in the US for a price of $199.99 sometime during June, 2013. The said amount is for the 16GB version and based on previous leaks, the tablet is expected to go on sale in Europe for €199.
