The demand for the 64GB Samsung Galaxy S3 seems to be on the lower side as far as the UK is concerned, as Clove recently announced that it won’t be stocking the handset owing to the unsatisfactory amount of pre-orders it received. This black colored device was put up by the retailer for a vote of sorts, announcing that its stock will be procured only if pre-orders reach a certain limit. As far as other major retailers in the UK are concerned, Expansys has plans of making it available sometime later, while Amazon UK is already selling the device with its price tagged at £600.
Clove has of course, apologized to all those who booked the highest memory version of the phone, saying that these folks can consider two other handsets with similar offerings that it is listing currently. These are the 64GB HTC One X+ and the 16GB model of the S3 that comes equipped with a microSDHC slot supporting cards of up to 64GB memory. Expansys on the other hand, has gone on record saying that it is doing its best to get as many 64GB Galaxy S3 models in stock as it can. No release date has emerged from the retailer as yet.
Announced for the first time in May this year, the handset has been making waves in the mobile industry for quite a few months now. Equipped with Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich OS – though eligible for Jelly Bean – the smartphone houses a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display that’s able to proffer a resolution of 1280 x 720p. Under its hood lies a 1.4GHz quad core processor that is assisted in its operation by 1GB of RAM.
An 8MP camera makes its way onto the device complete with an LED flash. And there’s a 1.9 MP front-facing snapper that’s part of the phone as well, granting its users things like HD recording at 30fps and BIS. The chassis’ dimensions read 136.6mm x 70.6mm x 8.6mm, whereas its weight is set at 133gms.
While it is available in the 16GB and 32GB variants, the 64GB Samsung Galaxy S3 is a little hard to get. For those in the UK, Amazon is stocking it currently in limited quantities.
