Apple had huge plans of distributing its iPhone in as many countries as possible. So it cast its web over the globe and netted some best carriers in potential markets. Another country it fished in is Turkey and the carrier is Turkey’s very own Turkcell.
Yes, now the 3G iPhone will land on the lands of Turkey later this year. Turkcell is supposed to be one of the leading carriers in Turkey and enjoys a user base of 35.4 million.
“We’re very excited to be working with Apple to bring the iPhone 3G to Turkey,” said, Lale Saral Develioglu, Turkcell’s chief marketing officer. “iPhone 3G represents the ultimate in mobile device technologies, and we can’t wait to offer this innovative product to millions of mobile customers later this year.”
The next-generation phone will be made available for both the pre-paid and post-paid customers, with all the features that include built-in GPS , iPhone 2.0 software, support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and many other downloadable third party applications via the App Store.
Although the official release date has not been announced by Turkcell, 3G iPhones pricing details and tariff plans are provided on the network operator’s official website.
