Noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is back with an in-depth note about this year’s iPhone trio, as picked up by 9to5Mac. He predicts the handsets will be making their debut on September 9, but only two out of three will go up for sale in the same month.

Those two are expected to be the 5.8-inch OLED iPhone X and 6.5-inch OLED iPhone X Plus. The 6.1-inch LCD iPhone 9 may arrive a bit later. Kuo doesn’t specify when exactly, but it looks like an October release is likely. Apple reportedly had problems incorporating Face ID with the LCD screen, hence the delay.

2018 iPhones Apple Pencil Support

Rumors in the past have suggested that Apple might allow the Apple Pencil to work with the new iPhones. Kuo shoots down this speculation in his report, stating that it would not offer a good user experience. He also dismisses a recent claim that the LCD iPhone will have an older Apple A10 processor.

The analyst believes all 3 iPhones will run on the new Apple A12 SoC and support Face ID. The 6.1-inch LCD and 6.5-inch OLED iPhones might be available in single and dual-SIM options depending on the market. The 5.8-inch iPhone could strangely get a single-SIM tray and embedded SIM support, although the eSIM may not be activated.

Kuo also provided a specs list and price breakdown of each iPhone. According to him, the 6.5-inch OLED iPhone will have a 2699 x 1242p resolution, 4GB of RAM, 64GB/256GB/512GB of storage, dual 12MP (6P and OIS) cameras, 4 x 4 MIMO antennas, a stainless steel frame, a 3300mAh – 3400mAh battery, 3 color options, and a starting price of $900 – $999 (roughly Rs 63000 – Rs 70000).

The 5.8-inch OLED iPhone is probably going to offer a similar list of features. Exceptions include a 2436 x 1125p resolution, a 2700mAh – 2800mAh battery, and an $800 – $899 (about Rs 56000 – Rs 63000) cost. The figure is much lower than the current iPhone X’s $999 rate, a move which should spur sales.

Finally, the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone is set to get a 1792 x 828p resolution, 3GB of RAM, 64GB/256GB of space, a single 12MP (6P and OIS) lens, 2 x 2 MIMO antennas, an aluminum frame, a 2600mAh – 2700mAh battery, 5 different color choices, and a starting cost of $600 – $699 (approx Rs 42000 – Rs 49000).
