The 2018 iPhones are coming next month, with nearly everything about them public knowledge. Turns out Apple might have the capacity to surprise after all since a new TrendForce report claims the handsets are going to support the Apple Pencil.
To be clear, the Apple Pencil has been linked to the iPhone for years. The company’s CEO Tim Cook once let slip that he had seen the stylus working with the device, but that may have been a mistake on his part. There’s no reason to believe this new article.
Apple Pencil Support with iPhone X Plus
One factor in the Apple Pencil’s favor is the sheer size of the biggest 2018 iPhone. The so-called iPhone X Plus measures 6.5-inch, enough for folks to jot down notes and doodle some artwork. The phone will probably target business consumers with its large screen and dual-SIM support, although support for the latter isn’t certain for all markets outside China.
Apple is apparently looking into adjusting its rates in order to stay competitive against Chinese brands which offer more bang for your buck. The company has reportedly bargained with supply chain partners to lower the cost of components in order to make this price reduction possible without losing out on its own profitability.

The new figures may accordingly be $699 for the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone 9, $899 for the OLED iPhone X (2018), and $999 for the OLED iPhone X Plus. The first is said to be going into production in mid-September, while the other two are already heavy into production. All 3 are set to ship in September and October.
Interestingly, it looks like the 6.1-inch iPhone will have 3GB of RAM and 64GB/256GB options. The iPhone X/iPhone X Plus may grab 4GB of RAM and 64GB/256GB/512GB of storage. The 512GB tier is new and should please fans itching for more space in their non-expandable iPhones.
