The 17-inch Samsung Series 7 Chronos laptop is the larger sibling that features within the company’s desktop replacement lineup. Packed with high-end components from Intel and Nvidia, the notebook has now gone live in the US.
This 17-incher from Samsung is embedded with a third generation Intel Core i7 processor and it runs on a genuine version of the Windows 7 Home Premium OS. Although the company classifies the device as a 17-inch laptop, it apparently incorporates a 17.3-inch full HD 1920 x 1080 SuperBright display within a smaller chassis. This is carried out by reducing the bezel around the screen. Crafted from brushed aluminum, it flaunts a sleek design with a wide catalog of attributes hidden under its hood.
“The new Series 7 Chronos can truly serve as a desktop replacement, whether it’s being used for work or play, because we’ve integrated so many powerful features into our innovative design and engineering, resulting in the ultimate personal computing experience,” commented Todd Bouman, vice president of marketing at Samsung Enterprise Business Division. “This product incorporates great features from our award-winning Series 7 Cheonos line while offering consumers the newest, most powerful components available and a larger screen for a more immersive viewing experience without sacrificing the convenience of a laptop.”
Where memory is concerned, the notebook takes on 8GB of RAM and 1TB of HDD storage. Along with quick start-up times, the device features a 2GB Nvidia GeForce 650M GPU, Wi-Fi b/g/n standards and a JBL speaker system with a sub-woofer. At 6.56 pounds in weight, the notebook is capable of delivering approximately 8 hours of battery life on a single charge.
The 17-inch Samsung Series 7 Chronos price sums up to $1,499.99 and it is available for purchase through authorized resellers and distribution channels.
