Those who have been waiting to own a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 may want to head over to Office Depot. The tablet has gone up for pre-order and its 16GB, Wi-Fi version is selling for around $400. What’s more, it’s just going to be a wait of one week before the retailer starts shipping it to customers.
The slate is scheduled to be sent out to buyers on May 11, that’s Friday. The 7-inch variant of the Tab 2 was already up for pre-order last month. Its 8GB Wi-Fi flavor can be picked up for $249.99 at present. As for the larger sibling, Office Depot has placed a pre-order limit of two units per customer on it. Pre-orders may be made online or via the retailer’s stores.
Running through the key specifications of the Samsung tablet, it has a 10.1-inch WXGA PLS TFT display and is powered by the Android 4.0 platform. A 1GHz dual core CPU embedded within it provides the processing power and this feature is supported by 1GB of RAM. In terms of connectivity, users get HSPA+, Bluetooth v3.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi Direct and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
For hoarding needs, there are 16GB as well as 32GB options to choose from. But Office Depot only seems to be proffering the former capacity model as of now. At any rate, Samsung has integrated a microSD card slot for support of up to 32GB within this ICS slab. Lastly, a 3MP camera sits on the rear, while a VGA one is present on the front bezel.
The 16GB Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Wi-Fi price is marked at $399.99 on Office Depot. That’s a price point which could impress the middle market of those who aren’t over the moon about the Kindle Fire, according to CNET.
