After the affordably priced eGlide Prism, the makers of this device have bounced back into the tablet market with the Ematic eGlide XL Pro 2, a tab meant for people seeking some convenient multimedia capabilities. Besides keeping users entertained, it allows faster web browsing, while offering an intuitive user interface, says the company.
The tablet sports a capacitive screen that provides a multi-touch real estate of 10 inches. Its support for 1080p HD videos and the HDMI connectivity should add to the movie viewing as well as the gaming experience. This slate gorges on the Ice Cream Sandwich platform and is loaded with the Kobo eReading app along with the Ematic App Shop for access to a number of other options.
“We’re thrilled to launch the eGlide XL Pro 2, and add it to our expanding line of tablets which suit various needs and lifestyles,” quoted Roy Rayn, General Manager of Ematic. “This tablet incorporates everything our consumers love about Ematic products: durability, productivity and affordability.”
The Ematic eGlide XL Pro 2’s capability of launching multiple applications at the same time can be attributed to the multi-core 1GHz processor, while the 400MHz GPU is responsible for the graphics. Besides 1GB RAM and 4GB onboard memory, it proffers 5GB of cloud storage and even an expansion slot with support for a microSD card of up to 32GB capacity. Prospective users can expect a webcam, a voice recorder and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with the hotspot function too.
This slab has also been pre-installed with what’s known as EDAN or Ematic Digital Assistant & Navigator that boasts of voice-to-text technology for permitting users to carry out basic tasks like dictating emails, Facebook status messages, tweets or finding out locations of restaurants, theaters and more. Additionally, its three-axis gyroscope and the accelerometer detect movement including full 3D rotation.
The Ematic eGlide XL Pro 2 price and availability stand at $219.99 and through ShopNBC.com, Amazon and Walmart.
