Reliance Infocomm Ltd. has cut down ISD rates by 45% to 69% for calls to various countries, including the U.S., Canada, Europe and Middle East. The revised rates are spread across all plans and schemes under prepaid and postpaid categories.
According to Reliance Infocomm, the reduced rates would allow its subscribers to make the cheapest international calls from India.
The ISD rates to the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia have been slashed down to Rs. 6/minute from Rs. 14.25/minute under all One Nation plans. The rates for ISD calls to these countries under all other plans have been brought down to Rs. 7.20/minute from Rs. 12.99/minute to Rs. 14.25/minute earlier.
Under the One Nation plans, the rates for calls to Gulf, Middle East and Africa have been brought down to Rs. 8/minute from Rs. 17.25/minute.Under other plans, it has been brought down to Rs. 9.99/minute from Rs. 19.99/minute to Rs. 17.25/minute.
“We are proud to lead the way in reducing the transactional cost for Indians who are interacting with the world more and more,” SP Shukla, President, Wireless, Reliance Infocomm said. “The ISD call rates have now come down below the levels STD rates were a few years back. The indirect economic value added to the economy of the country by this rate reduction is much more than actual rates itself.”
