One of Mumbai’s largest service providers Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has announced the Audio/Video Conferencing Service powered by Wireless Logix India (WLI) using WLI’s Session Communications software.

The government owned telephone service provider said that the application, based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) standard, bestows business associates, colleagues, friends and families the advantages of face-to-face meetings directly from a desktop.

Users can use unlimited point-to-point audio, video and text communications at a fixed cost. The application requires no special purpose hardware other than a simple webcam and microphone. It works in combination with most networks, including the internet. Users can virtually visit anyone within Mumbai from the privacy and comfort of their computers.

In addition, MTNL has also introduced its Multi-Point Conferencing Service for voice, video and data all at the same time. Customers can use this service to conduct meetings with multiple participants, as many times as they want to, since there are no charge for minutes.

This new Video Audio Conferencing Service can reduce travel and expenses and spans “geography” for face-to-face discussions.

According to MTNL, its Video/Audio Conferencing Service can be a great asset for investment brokerage houses, law firms, real estate firms, executive recruitment, education, government, firms providing legal deposition services, and anyone requiring remote communication.

Audio / Video Conferencing Tariff:

It is important to note that for availing the service customer should have MTNL’s Triband connection under any plan. The above charges are in addition to Triband charges. Service tax extra as applicable.
