Music buffs should be in for a treat with this latest addition to the App store. Shazam recently made public the launch of its novel Shazam Encore app for the App store. iPhone and iPod touch users now have a distinct way to gain more information about the music they admire.
Putting users on an exciting musical journey, this innovative application boast of a slick design and many extra features along with a super-speedy performance.
“Since our launch on the App Store, Shazam has achieved a huge following with iPhone and iPod touch users and is now one of the most popular music apps in the world,” commented Andrew Fisher, CEO of Shazam. “We have listened to our iPhone and iPod touch users and have created a new app which answers their requests to take them on an enhanced music journey that will change the way music lovers experience and learn about music.”
Loaded with an array of new functionality, the application’s enhanced performance speed performance should allow users to tag tracks and learn more about their music quickly. Offering music recommendations, the app enables users to improve their music collection and knowledge by unearthing music that’s identical to the track that’s been tagged.
Users can also search for hot and popular tracks and players in the music scene thanks to easy access of Shazam music charts generated by millions of other Shazamers. In addition to this, users can also find music by artist, album or track from over 8 million songs effortlessly. The drive and tag function will permit the application to automatically enter into car mode when the iPhone is placed in an in-car dock, discovering what’s playing on the radio even when driving.
Fisher adds, “From launching the first mobile music recognition service in 2002, Shazam is yet again defining the way mobile users experience the music around them. And now, seven years on we’re offering Shazam fans a compelling application which will allow them to discover, acquire and share new music in more ways than ever before, while still enabling new users to download and use Shazam for free.”
Existing free Shazam app users will still gain support from Shazam and new users will be limited to five Tags per month. Existing Shazam users can expect to enjoy all of the Shazam features minus any limitations. Also, the free Shazam app has now been enhanced with services like sharing Tags onto a Facebook mini-feed.
Additionally some common attributes of Shazam and Shazam Encore include sending Tags as a Tweet to followers; to Facebook mini-feed or even as a Postcard. With Tags now appearing on Maps inside Shazam alongside the Tag history, users can keep track of their music journey. Reading track and album reviews and artist biographies, users can also view other music from the same artist and in addition to song lyrics. Besides, users also have an option of personalizing their Tags or storing pending Tags for later use.
Depending on location, the Shazam Encore app is available for £2.99/ €3.99/ $4.99 from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch. While local language versions of both the Shazam apps are available in English (UK and US), German, Italian, Spanish, French, Dutch, Portuguese and Japanese, they are live in 22 countries across the world.
