Adobe releases AIR and Flex, Open-Source Softwares
Enriching the internet applications, Adobe has announced to launch the Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR) and Flex 3 software.
AIR offers users to develop rich internet applications (RIA) such as HTML, Ajax, PDF, Flash, and Flex. Faster development, user-friendliness and anywhere access are the main features of the new AIR. Besides, the new software is also capable enough to work with local files. That means the software can read/write files on the PC and work with other applications. It will also help users to maintain local data storage on the desktop.
In other words the new software is developed for open-source technology that will blur the line between online and offline working. AIR will allow websites to have a permanent spot on people’s desktops. Still confused? In simple words it works in the same way as the way Google’s widgets work.
Thanks to AIR, consumers will like to have the software as it will help lessen the time to download data. The Desktop will get updated automatically as soon as it is connected to the internet.
“We continue to advance the future of digital experiences by enabling our customers to create highly interactive, expressive applications. This is an exciting time for Adobe, for innovation in software, and for designers and developers who are driving the Web forward,” said Kevin Lynch, chief technology officer at Adobe.
Flex is available for free download for Windows as well as Mac on www.adobe.com/go/air and www.adobe.com/go/flex respectively.
