SatNav, a company synonymous to quality GPS products, now adds laptop and desktop navigation to its widest range of GPS products

SatNav has released its SatGuide turn-by-turn navigation and planning solution for laptops and desktops in India. These new products are focused on the business end and are the very first one’s of this nature in India until now. The have apparently been positioned as an efficiency enhancement and planning tool.

The application incorporates a turn-by-turn navigation and routing software bundled with ONE INDIA map of SatGuide that encompasses all major cities of India along with a detailed National / State Highway network – all included in a single map along with a number of points of interest. You may be just about anywhere, even in the comfort of your living room sofa and you can now feed in a start point, end point and get the complete details of distance, time to travel etc. In addition, when prior information is available regarding traffic congestion it is also possible to block those routes and get the best route as an output.

The SatGuide can be easily loaded on to one’s laptop or desktop and thereafter one can navigate with ease. You needn’t get frantic locating an address, and you can now seek details, mark out the destination on the desktop and then go directly for the meeting. The application will be a blessing for logistics, distribution companies and fleet managers as well.

An extensive beta testing has revealed that on an average each individual will be able to save a minimum of an hour each time an out of office travel is planned, leading to an efficiency enhancement of over 15% in a single day. Furthermore, companies can recover the money spent on this in less than a week by prioritizing their activities and planning well in advance.

The SatGuide for laptops will make it possible for users to easily transform the laptop into a Navigation device when needed, and find the location in real time or choose a start point and steer his/her way to the destination by attaching an external SatGuide Bluetooth GPS receiver.

SatNav Technologies has joined hands with Destinator Technologies, a global company that provides innovative and flexible navigation software, for the software component.

The SatGuide Laptop software for the laptop is available for direct buy from the website at www.satguide.in. Alternatively, interested buyers can contact the call center. However it is currently available only for sales of 100 or more licenses. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 1999 along with tax per license for the Pan-India solution.

At present Satnav is in talks with leading laptop and desktop manufacturers, and affiliations are expected to be announced soon. Over the coming weeks it will be opened up for retail sales and the product will be available through all the 1000+ channels where the company’s other devices, PNDs, PDAs, Phones and Navigation Software are currently available.
