Fans of Apple’s iTunes are about to get a much needed and all important speed boost. Swarmcast, a specialist in video streaming over Web connections has unveiled a new application called Autobahn Accelerator. This new app eliminates the frustration of waiting really long for music, videos and movie downloads from the iTune’s store.

According to Swarmcast, its Autobahn Accelerator technology can help a viewer download iTunes content to their computers up to 10 times faster than usual.

Basically, Autobahn Accelerator is based on multi-source streaming technology pioneered by Swarmcast. Many downloads rely on a single computer server to deliver information over a network, encountering a number of delays along the way. But, this new application pulls videos from several servers simultaneously.

Installing Autobahn Accelerator for iTunes is quite a breeze and can be accessed from here. This application when installed runs in the background every time music or videos are downloaded from iTunes.

A great thing about Swarmcast’s application is that it is completely free of spyware and adware. It is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/ 32-bit Vista, running on Internet Explorer 6 and 7 as well as Firefox. Soon, this app will also be OS X compatible.

“This is all about being able to bring a cable or satellite television-type of experience to folks watching video over the Internet,” said Swarmcast founder and Chief Executive Justin Chapweske.
