Microsoft selects F-Secure for Content Security on Windows Home Server
Microsoft has revealed that security company F-Secure has been chosen as the first data security vendor for Windows Home Server by the software giant. Windows Home Server is Microsoft’s forthcoming solution to help families easily centralize, share and protect their digital assets, such as photos, music and videos.
The announcement was made at the 2007 Windows Hardware Engineering Conference in Los Angeles. With this move, F-Secure software will interoperate with Windows Home Server to safeguard users against computer viruses and other threats from the Internet and mobile networks.
F-Secure offers protection for the important and often irreplaceable content of the digital home on the Windows Home Server solution. The Helsinki, Finland-based company provides protection against virus and spyware attacks, secures against riskware and also includes scanning of hidden malicious software (rootkit protection). Home users can totally trust the Windows Home Server and can take full advantage of its data centralization and protection abilities, since the F-Secure solution keeps itself automatically up-to-date with the latest protection against new threats and needs no user itervention..
“This collaboration fits well in our product portfolio and we are proud to work with Microsoft to offer customers a solution to support Windows Home Server. We look forward to a continued strong cooperation with Microsoft,” maintained Kimmo Alkio, CEO at F-Secure Corporation.
