ClipaTools, a developer of innovative software has now announced the launch of ‘ClipaSearch Lite’, a search tool that allows users to perform a Web search in just two steps from any application running on Mac OS X.

ClipaSearch Lite provides a time-saving way to search for files on your computer.

According to Jim Sims, founder of ClipaTools, “As a software developer, I often research code and techniques in archived lists. With ClipaSearch I highlight code in my development editor and with one movement pf the cursor I immediately have the information I need.”

When using CliaSearch Lite, the users needs to highlight the text, then move the mouse cursor to a hotspot to perform either a Google or OS X Spotlight search.

“This is the first stage in the development of this technology. We will have a professional version available very soon. Researchers of all kinds will be very pleased with this system,” Sims continued.

The ClipaSearch Lite software includes other features for searching forty-eight individual Web services such as iTunes, Wikipedia, Apple Support and many others.

According to C. Mifsud, an archaeological researcher, “I research items in Word documents and Adobe Acrobat Reader files sent by Windows users all day long. ClipaSearch has quickly become my favorite research tool, enabling me to work more quickly and efficiently, with optimal ergonomics.”

ClipaSearch requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later. You can download ClipaTool’s ClipaSearch software as a Universal Binary application from here. There’s a free version as well as a pro version available.
