
Apple has released the latest version 1.3 of its Boot Camp beta. First announced in 2006, the renowned Boot Camp has the ability to run the Windows XP and Vista operating systems on a separate partition of Intel-based Macs at native hardware speeds. The new version, a 274 megabyte download, adds the following fixes and advancements:
Updating to the new version does not require you to repartition your hard drive or reinstall Mac or Windows software or documents, but you do nee to update the Boot Camp Assistant software, create a new Mac Drivers CD and install the updated software it contains onto Windows.
Though the Boot camp is at present not officially supported, all the same it is available free. The software requires an Intel-based Mac, Mac OS X 10.4.6 or later the latest firmware updates, 10GB free hard disk space, a recordable CD or DVD, a printer for the instructions and a full version of Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2, Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business, or Windows Vista Ultimate to run.
