NetAlter Logo and Overview Indian-based software company NetAlter Software, has patented a system that offers a ‘domainless’ alternative to Web and Internet-based solutions. Once fully developed this system will be known as “NetAlter” and according to the company, will offer a secure, spam and virus free software and network for both users as well as businesses.

The NetAlter Service Browser will be made available for free to both users and businesses. It will enable them to connect, communicate and share with other users directly from their PCs via a P2P network.

According to NetAlter Software, users of the NetAlter Service Browser will no longer have to be worried about their personal and financial information being hacked or even misused as this browser will not allow unauthorized programs to run. Besides, this system will also protect the intellectual property of creators of content and applications.

Other than security features, the NetAlter Service Browser will also provide features for communication such as email, file sharing, information sharing and messaging.

Once the system is developed, all users have to do is simply install the NetAlter Browser on their PCs, allowing them to publish content across the network without registering a domain name or even hosting a Web server.

Moreover, since the NetAlter System features an integrated intelligent clustered semantic search engine that is e-commerce enabled, users will be able to search and find precise information and resources within the NetAlter browser itself and then store the search results on their computer. The user can then access this content offline as and when he wishes too.

The NetAlter System will provide a collaborative platform for developers and service providers to share their code or content and do business in the NetAlter network. This is because the NetAlter system works on the Democratic Grid concept where end users in the network share the idle resources of their computer with a global grid pool and then use the same grid to run grid-enabled applications on a quid pro quo basis.

In the future, NetAlter also plans to offer a spam-free targeted advertising model as an alternative to current Web-based advertising. The company is also said to be looking forward to working with established developers and service providers in forming a consortium for the further development of this technology.
