Skype Mac Video Calling Software Download Released
Skype has released a new cross-platform software that will allow both Mac and Windows users to make free video calls over the Internet using Skype software.
The new Skype for Mac 2.0 makes possible one-on-one video calls that can be viewed within the Skype window or a user’s full computer screen, Skype said Wednesday.
Skype’s director of product management Stefan Oberg said, “Our community is made up of both Mac and Windows users. We couldn’t be more excited to bring these two groups together, literally face-to-face.”
With Skype for Mac 2.0 users enjoy completely free phone calls to other Skype users, no matter where they are. Calls to traditional and mobile phones can be made at very low rates.
The new video call services requires Apple users to have a Macintosh computer with Mac OS X v10.3.9 Panther or newer, a G4, G5 or Intel processor with a speed of 800 MHz, or higher, 512 MB RAM, 40 MB free disk space.
