Windows Live Search Service Beta and Live.com launched by Microsoft

MS Live LogoSoftware giant, Microsoft has introduced Windows Live Search Service in Beta. As part of the company’s move to tap 33 new markets around the world, Microsoft has also launched its new search homepage, Live.com, across Asia- Pacific.

The new service has an innovative new user-interface, as well as very rich and powerful organizational tools, giving the user a good amount of control while surfing. Microsoft said that, users across Asia-Pacific can now enjoy Windows Live Search as part of the Live.com experience.

Alex Stewart, regional director - MSN and Windows Live business (Asia Pacific), Microsoft, said, “Outside of email, Search is the most popular online activity in Asia. It has become a universal part of the Web, and yet there is huge potential in terms of what it can deliver for Asia s netizens.We are thrilled to be launching the Windows Live Search and Live.com betas in Asia. These services are our strategy’s core, and we believe that the innovations unveiled today will deliver an outstanding level of power and simplicity of search”.

Windows Live Search features simple precision tools such as search preview, a detail slider bar that increases the level of result information on the result page. Windows Live Search can be viewed as a user-friendly interface. It also has a smart-scroll, which enables users to view search results without moving from page to page.

Live.com is basically a fast and customizable search home page just for Windows Live. It included features such as the ability to add persistent search results. Live.com also allows users to subscribe to Rich Site summary (RSS)feeds directly from search results. Furthermore, Live.com has the ability to view search results in the advanced contextual format.

Users can also create multiple pages, based on their interests, and add their favorite photographs, news, and weather reports from millions of information sources and RSS feeds.

Windows Live will be offered alongside MSN. Indian users can log on to www.live.co.in. Live.com the beta version is available from the main website www.live.com.
