McAfee Inc. announced that it’s Internet Security Suite 2006 has won the Small Business Computing’s Security Product of the Year award. The runner-up award in the same category was also bagged by the company’s McAfee Secure Messaging Service for Small Business.

The California based McAfee said that the reasons behind the selection of their products over most others were their high degree of protection, functionality, automatic updates and competitive price point.

McAfee Internet Security Suite 2006 won top honors in the security category with nearly 70% of the vote from readers. McAfee Internet Security Suite protects against viruses, spyware, hackers and “phishing” scams that may result in lost files, identity theft and poor PC performance. Internet Security Suite is available in three-user packages for $129.99.

McAfee Secure Messaging Service for Small Business was runner-up in the Security Product of the Year awards, making McAfee a clear winner of the category. Secure Messaging Service is a hosted mail-filtering solution that automatically filters a company’s incoming and outgoing email traffic through McAfee servers to guard against spam, viruses, “phishing” attacks, inappropriate content and denial of service attacks.

McAfee Secure Messaging Service for Small Business is available for $36.44 and is designed for small business with 11 to 250 employees.
