Albert Hofmann, LSD Drug Discoverer bids Goodbye to the World
Albert Hofmann who is very popularly known as the father of the mind-altering drug LSD passed away on Tuesday. He was 102 and passed away due to a heart attack at his home in Burg im Leimental, Switzerland.
The LSD Drug was believed to have therapeutic capabilities for patients who required psychiatric treatment. Its only after Albert Hofmann ingested this drug accidentally did he come to know about the capabilities of the drug.
“The substance which I wanted to experiment with took over me. I was filled with an overwhelming fear that I would go crazy. I was transported to a different world, a different time,” Hofmann wrote. “I produced the substance as a medicine. It’s not my fault if people abused it,” he once said.
