Nokia Lumia 720 announced, price details unveiled
Following its unveiling at the ongoing MWC, the Lumia 720 has received vague details about its release date, which will fall sometime in March, and the Nokia handset’s price is set to be around €249. This highly anticipated phone was the subject of a handful of recent leaks that gave away its specifications as well as its press shots before its maker could reveal them. And it seems these predictions have turned out to be quite true.
It is a mid-range device which runs on the Windows Phone 8 OS, proffering its users with benefits of its live tiles-based user interface. Set to be made available splashed with red, white, cyan, black and yellow hues, the smartphone has been built using the polycarbonate uni-body material which we’ve also seen on the 920. However, this new handset carries a slimmer form factor than the 920, with its dimensions having been set at 127.9mm x 67.5mm x 9mm.
The 4.3-inch ClearBlack WVGA LCD display that sits atop its body kicks in Gorilla Glass 2.0 coating for increased visibility and resistance against fingerprints and shocks. Taking care of its operations is a 1GHz dual core processor which is assisted in the process by a modest 512MB RAM. As predicted, 8GB of internal storage has been locked in place by the company, with support of course for expansions via a microSD card slot.
Coming to the camera attributes of this handset, it can be observed that a 6.7MP shooter makes its way into it, equipped with an f/1.9 aperture. In simple language, the latter trait enables users to capture images in low lit conditions more efficiently. And then there’s even a 1.3MP Skype HD wide angle front snapper for video calling purposes.
Apart from NFC, other connectivity offerings include essential ones like Wi-Fi, A-GPS + GLONASS, USB and Bluetooth 3.0. The battery of this device bears 2000mAh of capacity, and supports wireless charging with the help of separately-sold covers. On a single complete charge, it is able to dole out talk time of 13.5 hours.
As mentioned above, eager fans can expect the Nokia Lumia 720 to be released sometime in March.
