The Google LG Nexus India release date has been speculated to fall later next month, while the handset is expected to make its debut on October 29 alongside various other Nexus-branded devices. These details were divulged by the county’s Mobile Product Planning head during the Optimus Vu launch event which took place just yesterday.
In an interview with IBNLive, Amit Gujral stated that the handset which is also known as the LG Nexus 4, will be unveiled on October 29. He went on to say that the phone will reach Indian shores next month. If so, the smartphone in question would be the first Google-branded device to officially land in the country. The handset’s specifications are said to be similar to the South Korean conglomerate’s flagship device. Known components include a 1.5GHz quad core Qualcomm processor, a 4.7-inch 1280 x 768p IPS screen, an 8MP camera and Android 4.2.
Google’s event will also be a platform for various new devices. Based on speculations, the search giant should unveil fresh hardware manufactured by HTC, dubbed the Nexus 5, a 32GB version of the Nexus 7 as well as a 3G variant of the tablet, and a 10.1-inch high-resolution Samsung slate which could compete with the third generation iPad. The new products will also be powered by the latest Android platform.
If the claims made by the company’s Mobile Product Planning head for India turns out to be true, the Google LG Nexus should be launched in the country sometime by the end of November. Price details and the exact availability date haven’t been given a mention as yet.
