Samsung upgrades its Galaxy Spica (I5700) smartphone to employ the power of the newest version of Android, the Android 2.1. This galaxy comes with a universe of features that claim to bring in unprecedented mobile experience.
The Galaxy Spica has retained most of the features included in the renowned Galaxy Spica (I5700) like seamless connectivity alongside access to Google mobile services, multimedia functions and faster processor performance.
“Lovers of the Galaxy Spica appreciated the ease with which they could access their contacts and personalise their experience – our upgraded handset offers all this and much more; a rich and rewarding and powerful mobile experience,” said JK Shin, President and Head of the Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics.
This upgrade is said to be made available through PC Studio 7 which is Samsung’s unique in-house software upgrade program. The Galaxy Spica offers a highly intuitive communications device which enables users to personalize no less than nine side-scrolling screens.
The handset also features augmented reality technology which displays real-time digital information of users’ surroundings over the view-finder that comes with Galaxy Spica’s 3 megapixel camera. It has been attributed with Samsung widgets, Visual bookmark and PC Sync.
Users can transform this multimedia capable handset into a personal entertainment device while the Media browser enables one to browse through the media collection effortlessly. The upgrade will be available this month, beginning from Germany and later to other European markets, Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Asia, Africa and then across the globe.
