Motorola i890 handset from Sprint hits Nextel National Network

This next mobile phone offering is touted to combine instant communications and multimedia features in a form factor that fits easily into the pocket. Sprint has announced that the Motorola i890 push-to-talk handset is now available on the Nextel National Network. The phone is proffered with push-to-talk services of Nextel Direct Connect as well as Sprint data plans through the latter’s sales channels.
The phone integrates external media keys with Haptic feedback and a Quick Release button for comfortable one-handed operation. It possesses a 2MP camera cum camcorder with 4x digital zoom, an incorporated MP3 player and stereo Bluetooth connectivity. The handset allows users to move onto an interconnect voice call from an active push-to-talk call with a touch of a button.

Combined with the support of business applications and advanced multimedia features, Motorola i890 is perfect for anyone who needs to get work done, but still wants to look good,” trilled Fared Adib, Vice President of Product Development, Sprint.
Data plans offered with this new Motorola handset include Sprint’s Everything Data 450 plan with Any Mobile, Anytime that costs $69.99 per month for unlimited calling to U.S. wireless users, unlimited Direct Connect and Group Connect as well as unlimited nationwide texting, web browsing, e-mail and GPS navigation. Sprint Business Advantage data plans start from $29.99 on a month-to-month basis.
Motorola’s i890 phones can be purchased through all Sprint sales channels for $129.99 on a two-year customer contract basis for a new-line activation or eligible upgrade and Nextel Direct Connect calling plans.
