The most recent phone to be endowed by the power of touch is a new LG handset. Dubbed as the LG GD510 aka Pop, the elegant touchscreen phone claims to simplify the use of a touch interface. Adorning a compact 3” full touchscreen fabrication, using a touchscreen phone is now a breeze with this LG creation.

Keeping to the powerful LG family of touch phones, the new LG GD510 too is loaded with a host of advanced functions. Eliminating the additional bulk and features that may not really be needed, the phone has supposedly been modeled on the basis of consumer research. So users wanting a simple touchscreen phone may not have to wait any longer. Also the research revealed that the complexity of feature-rich phones tends to be a major turn off for users who desire easy navigation and larger screens in touchscreen phones.

With this in mind, the new LG innovation has been crafted to pack in all the essential features that may be a necessity and leaves out the overhead of features that were not really used.

“We gave the LG GD510 an optimized feature set which allowed us to concentrate on making the phone more compact and simpler to use,” commented Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Our high-end phones like the Black Label Series New LG Chocolate (LG BL40) may be getting all the attention but there’s a gap in the market for affordable touchscreen phones that we want to fill. The LG GD510 delivers all the essentials in communication, multimedia and entertainment and comes in a compact form factor as well.”

Well-versed in multimedia, the phone supports several popular file formats of music and movies. Besides, users can also take advantage of 8GB of internal memory. With an easy-to-use browser, and a 3.0 megapixel camera, the phone effortlessly allows users to capture high quality photos and videos for online or wireless sharing.

The handset additionally sports a spacious 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen that extends almost to its edges. Boasting of a narrow 4.8mm bezel giving the illusion of an uninterrupted sheet of glass, the phone’s sleek design is further accented by a single button on the face. On the basis of the phone’s mode, the button functions as the menu, end and cancel keys. Its function is indicated by a slim strip of light around the button that gleams either green or red. Tailored from brushed aluminum, the phone shows off a rather high-end look. It feels solid in the hand even when held tightly.

Beginning mid-October, the LG GD510 phone will be available Europe, followed by other markets. The exact price of the device will vary country-to-country and will be announced separately in each individual market.
