Samsung Electronics unveils its latest in cell phone innovation – the Samsung Jet, launching it globally. The phone is built with a traditional user interface of and also incorporates the perks of a smartphone. The phone cannot be dismissed as another full touch mobile phone. It claims to be the birth of a new idea in the cell phone markets.

‘Smarter than a smartphone’, the Samsung Jet guarantees additional smartphone features like the Multi task manager and the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. They facilitate easy menu navigations in a slick design. The phone can brag world firsts in display technology and speed of performance. With its enterprising 3.1” 16M WVGA AMOLED display an unmatched touch screen experience is assured. A resolution that is 4 times higher than the WVGA screen adds to the visual experience. It claims to be the fastest full touch handset with its 800 MHz application processor. Its captivating screen combined with the latest TouchWiz 2.0 user interface provides an exceptional user experience.

Everyday life is made easier with iconic features like the motion UI, smart unlock, customizable widget screen. Popular and social networking sites and can be easily and quickly accessed with Samsung’s Dolphin internet browser. The browser allows a simultaneous view of up to five web pages and also facilitates bookmarking the favorites as widgets. An integrated ad blocker, multiple and background downloading features and the multi purpose address field work to ensure a great user experience. The One finger Zoom provided by Dolphin requires only one hand to zoom in and out of web pages.

Unlike conventional smartphones the Samsung Jet doesn’t compromise on features. It holds all the smartphone features in a super stylish frame and slick design. It’s also packed with a host of other multimedia features including a 5 mega-pixel AF + Dual Power LED camera, built-in GPS, DNSe and SRS Sound Effect technology for excellent sound quality and DivX and XviD for easy video downloading and viewing.

The other key features of the phone include support for the EDGE/GPRS Class 12 (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz) and HSDPA 3.6 Mbps (900, 2100 MHz) networks. The handset boasts of D1 video Playback/ D1 30 fps, video recording, MPEG4, H264, WMV, DivX, XviD and Video editor. Its utility is enhanced by WAP 2.0, Share Pix and Mobile Widget, A-GPS, On Board Navigation, TouchWix2.0, Motion UI and Media Gate 3D.

The handset also includes a music player with DNSe and SRS WOW Sound Effect, Find Music, a 3.5mm ear jack, FM radio/ recording and support for MP3, AAC, AAC+ eAAC+ WMA, AMR, MIDI, SP – MIDI, WAV, MMF, XMF,OMA, DRM v2.1, WMDRM, i-melody and DivX VOD formats. Bluetooth Technology v2.1, micro USB and Wi-Fi are also its featured characteristics. Its battery provides a talktime of 2G/ 492 minutes 3G/ 300 minutes and a standby time of 2G/ 422 hours, 3G/ 406 hours. It measures around 108.8 X 53.5 X 11.9 mm in dimensions.

Samsung Jet launches today at ‘Samsung Mobile Unpacked’ events in London, Dubai and Singapore. The events feature live technologies and entertainment and assure an adrenaline pumping experience with the new handset. The Samsung Jet will retail in India in the last week of June. It is priced at Rs 24,150.
