Telstra announces price details for 3G iPhone in Australia

The much awaited pricing details of the next-generation 3G iPhone have been released finally. However the news is only for Australians since it comes from Telstra the service provider who will be supplying iPhone in Australia.
Telstra announced the pricing and the scheme it is offering for 3G iPhone which are cheap enough to surprise you. The phone will be available only for $279 and the plans accompanying the phone will cost you just $30 per month.
However, the $279 price is for the iPhone with 8GB capacity. The 16 GB iPhone is available for $399.
Well, there are more offers in store. If you choose to buy the 8GB model with a monthly plan of $80 or the 16GB iPhone with a monthly plan of $100 then you get the phone at no upfront cost. The plans come with a 24-month contract and offer free Wi-Fi at Telstra hotspots.
The next-generation, speedier iPhone will hit Australia on Friday, July 11 2008. Telstra is offering pre-registration for the phone on its official website.
Telstra is the first service provider in Australia that introduced Next G Network in the country.
