Samsung Announces Pixon Mobile Phone with 8 Megapixel Camera

Samsung Pixon Phone

Samsung has announced its latest Pixon touch-screen phone. The handset sports a high resolution 8 MP camera. Further it is equipped with 16 x Zoom, Dual Power LED flash and autofocus.

The Pixon features several enhanced photography functions like Face Detection, Smile Shot, ASR (Advanced Shake Reduction) and WDR (Wide Dynamic Range). In addition, it is also capable of capturing videos at up to 30 fps D1 (720 x 480) or 120 fps QGVA.

The phone offers HSDPA Quad-Band 7.2Mbps for faster connectivity. Other features include media player, FM radio with RDS, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 microSD card slot and 200MB internal storage space.

Moreover, the mobile phone does not have any keypad. It totally depends on 3.2-inch 240 x 400 WQVGA touchscreen, for the input function. The Pixon has only two keys allowing users to answer or reject the call. Also, a camera shortcut button is added to the side of the device.

The pricing and availability information of the Samsung Pixon phone has not been yet been disclosed. The phone will be available in October.
