Spice Mobile partners with Opera to enhance the Internet experience on Phones

Spice, Opera logos Internet browsing is the need of the day. From businessmen to students to perhaps housewives too, internet connectivity is an essential feature most individuals require in this day and age. Understanding the same, Spice Mobiles has joined hands with Opera Software for their new Mobile Browser feature – Opera Mini on their GPRS and Java-enabled mobile phones devices, in India. This means that all the forthcoming mobile phones from Spice Mobile’s kitty will feature Opera Mini as the web browser.

Speaking about the new move, Kunal Ahooja, CEO, Spice Mobiles Ltd. said, “With mobile convergence taking place, the mobile world is going closer to ‘application on demand’ scenario as against rich features that were hitherto available only on the high-end phones. With this application, Spice Mobile also intends to add more value to the consumer’s life and strengthen its promise of being a people’s brand. He adds, “Through Opera Mini, we will definitely provide a better browsing experience to our customers and add to improved productivity and lifestyle of our mobile consumers”.

Tatsuki Tomita, Senior Vice President for consumer solutions at Opera Software stated, “ Opera is proud to be an integral part of their mission to bring full Internet access to affordable phones. Opera Mini addresses the needs of Indian consumers and guarantees user-friendly access to the Web.”

The latest effort will make it possible for Spice Mobile’s user base to access all their favorite websites with Opera Mini that promises a rich yet fast browsing experience.
The browser will be pre-loaded on all GPRS and Java-enabled handsets to allow its instant usage by the customer gain access to any possible website. Furthermore, the size and look of the websites will be automatically customized by Opera Mini as per the phone.
