Contact Lenses May Possibly Display Mobile Phone Caller Identity Soon

Well technology and science has surpassed all human imagination. Everytime you think that things couldn’t get better than this, the very next day you come across something even more inspiring and perhaps exciting than ever before. When my colleague told me about this latest invention that we are just about to report, I was awestruck (and shocked, sitting with an open mouth and eyes popped out!) for the next 5 minutes.
Here you go! A group of engineers at the University of Washington have developed contact lens that have the ability to display details of all the incoming calls that you receive on your mobile phone. Confused as to how this is going to happen? Well, the display would be superimposed on the outside. Spellbound already, well get ready for some more. When the technology materializes and gets fully functional, it could perhaps even be used by drivers to display the speed of the vehicle, pilots to view the plane’s condition while flying and (hold your breath!) video game developers for new games which would definitely eat into virtual reality. And as is that’s not enough, the developers are also in the works of allowing internet surfing via the contact lens too.
The group of experts at the University of Washington embedded an electronic circuit and LEDs directly into contact lenses, which were fitted on rabbit eyes. Though the circuit is not functional and the lights don’t light up, the development shows that potential applications like direct video to the eye may indeed be likely.
It’s important to note that currently the prototype contact lens does not correct the wearer’s vision, but the technique could be used on a corrective lens, Parviz said. And all the gadgetry won’t get in the way of a person’s view.
As of now only a prototype of this entire astounding technology has been developed and an entirely-functional device would surely take time to fall into place.

I first read about this story on Global Grind and it freaked me out. I wear contacts, but I would have to pass these up. Its kind of scary to think that you could have messages being fed to you and you would not be able to look away. People could be getting brainwashed and not even no it lol, just a thought.
